Ultimate Reset Day #11 – Hilery

Introduction

Here we go again!! Ultimate Reset Day #11 is here. I am officially over the half way point today. Above all, I’m excited we will be in one place for another couple days!

Next week the road trip continues with multiple travel days in a row. Therefore,  I need to start thinking about how to navigate this on the road and hotels rather than AirBnB’s.

Meals

I am still running a little hot and felt like a shake for breakfast today. In addition,  I think I can’t go more than a day without Shakeology!! IT was delicious. Similarly, I almost forgot to take a photo until it was almost done…

I went for another long walk with Bodhi and then made lunch. The quinoa salad was so amazing last night that I had to have it again today. I had one more avocado and I have to say that it made the recipe so I wanted to catch it at that peak ripeness! All this quartering avocados and letting it sit for days is not my cup of tea.

I don’t feel like the detox supplement is really doing anything at this point and am not sure what to think. In addition, I didn’t have any bowel movement today which is not a sign of health. Similarly, I’m a bit perplexed at why all these fruits and veggies are just deciding to hang out in my body longer than necessary!

I went down to make the miso soup and greens for dinner but was just too hot to eat something hot. Therefore, I chopped up the swiss chard and then started looking over what produce I have left that I should try to consume before we hit the road. The kale was starting to wilt, the green beans were going to be bad in probably another day so I decided to just make a salad with swiss chard, kale, mustard sprout, pea sprouts, green beans, tomatoes, and bell peppers. I added the quinoa to the salad and threw in a handful of pecans for some healthy fat. Above all, I am loving the lime ginger aminos as a salad dressing so I drizzled that on top and enjoyed!

Ultimate Reset Day #10 – Hilery

Ultimate Reset Day #10 was great! I put my new levels of energy into use. For Instance,  I went for a long walk with Bodhi to the beach. We learned that we are just about surrounded by alligators on this golf course!!

I did try to stick to the meal plan as much as possible. Maybe I’m too much of a free spirit these days. Being sick you are forced to do all these ridiculously strict protocols. After that, drink disgusting medicines so I have been going through way worse cleanses for the past two years. Since this one is from my choosing and not my doctor’s, I just want the freedom to make it work for me.

The fun in the sun did overheat me a little and I could feel a headache come on in the afternoon. Above all, I didn’t have an extra bowel movements today so I’m assuming my body is adapting to the supplement now.

I definitely was feeling a little lazy by the end of the day and did not feel like cooking at all! I decided to multitask on my video recap of Ultimate Reset Day #10 and make dinner at the same time!

Ultimate Reset Day #9 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #9!

I definitely noticed a big shift from taking the detox supplement last night! For Instance, I was parched and chugging water before bed and again in the middle of the night. In addition, later I woke in the middle of the night with a headache which is very abnormal for me. I have migraines often but I tend to wake up with them first thing in the morning.

This was simply a little sign that my body is letting go of toxins and needs more water to help flush them out. I listened so hopefully my body will stay happy! After that, I did have two bowel movements this morning and the second one was loose so the cleansing process has definitely begun. It seems to be a fairly gentle cleansing – at least for me so far – so I feel more at ease. Doing a colon cleanse while traveling was a bit concerning to me so I’m happy everything is going so well.

I can actually feel my body losing weight in such a healthy way. I’m not sure if that will make sense to everyone but over the past few years I have lost a lot of weight due to my medical issues. Near the end of December I started to feel better and began force feeding myself as much food as possible to get out of the malnourished bony phase. I put on weight pretty quick but it didn’t feel healthy. Now I feel like I am leaning out but not getting emaciated. It feels really nice!

I feel full of both energy and vitality today. I can’t imagine feeling any better than I do today so I can’t wait to see what the second half of this journey will be like!

Here is the recap of my day, I think you can easily tell how wonderful I feel!

Ultimate Reset Day #8 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #8!

Week Two begins today!! A new supplement is being added to the mix and well the flavor isn’t bad but the texture isn’t my favorite. Luckily I am pretty good at chugging 8 ounces of water!

detox supplement in glass water bottle all mixed up with other reset supplements in the background

This new supplement is to help with detoxification and they warn you that you may not feel just an intestinal detox but it could also be through the skin and emotional. Looks like I have a fun week ahead LOL.

I stuck to the plan today and had the fruit plate for breakfast and the microgreen salad for lunch BUT I skipped the suggested avocado and pumpkin seeds and used the leftover zucchini cashew soup for dressing from last night. For dinner I swapped out pinto beans for black beans and quinoa for rice. I didn’t buy rice as I’m trying to keep the groceries to a minimum while traveling and I prefer the way quinoa feels in my body more than rice! It’s definitely not the same experience as rice and beans but it works! The steamed zucchini and green beans with lemon were delicious.

I saved the Shakeology today in case I did need a snack or wanted a sweet treat at the end of the day. When Shakeology becomes your cheat – you know you are eating super clean!! I didn’t end up needing it so I went without.

The only difference I noticed from the detox supplement today was that I was extra thirsty!

Ultimate Reset Day #2 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #2

Since I am trying to make my life easier doing the reset on the road, my day two looks almost identical to day one! I added some different fruits to my overnight oats this morning and added a handful of greens and sprouts to dinner. For Instance, I mixed the Zucchini Cashew soup into the greens as a salad dressing and then tossed in the roasted root vegetable leftovers in from last night. In Conclusion, I actually enjoyed it more than the eating it hot the first night!

I definitely missed caffeine a little this morning! My eyes felt very heavy while I was training my client – granted that is at 4:30 in the morning but I’m usually bright eyed at that time! In addition, I also had a slight headache that I did take Excedrin for so I think that was a sign of a little caffeine withdrawal.

Masurements

It came to me that I didn’t share my measurements with you yesterday! I did take a video in a bikini. However, I am going to wait until there is a before and after LOL. On March 3rd I weighed 149 pounds even. My body measurements in inches were:

Chest 34.25
Waist 27
Hips 39.5
Thigh R 23.75 L 23.25
Knee  R 17.25 L 17.25
Calf    R 15       L 14.5
Bicep R 12       L 12

Just thought I should have those down for a record somewhere. It is always good to take both your weight and measurements to get a clear picture of your progress. Photos and videos of you hair, skin, and body are important to take so you get a clear picture of your transformation.

I find as humans we tend to discredit ourselves for the progress we have made. We tend to only look at how far we want to go instead of all the progress along the journey. This is why I think it is important to document journeys like this – it may only be three weeks but you will have forgotten exactly how you were feeling and looking by the end.

Here is a quick video to sum up the day! This VRBO we are staying in has mold issues and is making me a little sick as I just cleared all the mold from my body! Luckily we leave tomorrow morning so I should be back on track after some extra detox supplements.

Ultimate Reset Day #7 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #7!

Introduction

Week one is coming to an end! I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by. I’m sure traveling helps the time pass a little faster. I did wake up exhausted today. My alarm went off at 3:15 and I reset it for 4…. and then rescheduled my 4:30am client for tomorrow! Bodhi was up vomiting in the wee hours of the morning and yesterday was a very long day so I decided to give my body the rest it needs.

I headed to the grocery store this morning and picked up all the supplies I need for the next week. I got home and looked at what the meal plan actually is for Day Seven and found it was a vegan fruit plate, salad for lunch, and tempeh for dinner.

Meals

I had one serving of coconut yogurt left so I added it in with my fruit this morning. It is so delicious. Similarly, I have tried just a few vegan yogurts because the texture tends to be extremely off but the Harmless Harvest coconut milk based yogurt has the same texture and consistency of yogurt with a very light coconut taste. I highly recommend it. Even if you aren’t vegan – try it and see if it is a product you could make the swap on!

My shakeology lunch is a habit that just won’t die. I really do love the taste of it, it’s filling and has all my superfoods and immune boosting supplements in it. It’s quick, easy, and satisfying.

Dinner I went with what is suggested for lunch because I don’t eat tempeh due to the soy. Lunch was supposed to be the microgreen salad and zucchini cashew soup. The soup worked so well as a salad dressing last week that I took that approach again so I made the soup at lunch time to let it cool. It was delicious.

Progress

I did get on the scale today since it had been about a week and I went from 149 to 146! Easy weight loss is the best LOL. I am seeing how much my healthy treats and dinner out adds up quite quickly. However, I had lost so much weight due to illness that I’m not really sure what weight my body would actually like to be. Hopefully the reset will answer that question!

Cheers to the end of week one. This week the reset taught me that we all tend to be whiny babies when it comes to food. It doesn’t take long to prepare a healthy meal and you can do it in a hurry, in fact it takes longer to eat it because of both the volume and the fibrous textures. And although the Zucchini Cashew Soup was not my favorite soup, I really loved it as a salad dressing and dipping sauce. It is a super easy recipe to memorize so I’m keeping that one tucked in my memory bank for frequent use. Three pounds lighter and a little bit wiser, I like those results.

Ultimate Reset Day #6 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #6!

Ultimate Reset Day #6 is a travel day for me which means I will be putting in about a 16 hour day. Since I am just recovering from a long medical nightmare, this feels like such a wonderful accomplishment. There is no way I could have done this a few months ago. So it may be a long day but I am incredibly grateful that I can pull it off!

Ultimate Reset Day#6

The look on his face when you turn the seat warmers on!

I’m going to let the video explain the food choices today because I was a little confused at what groceries to put to use in the morning! For dinner I did use the frozen veggie mix that I show in the video on top of what I had left for salad ingredients.

I’m looking forward to heading to Whole Foods in the morning and getting some fresh supplies and sticking to the meal plan better.

Take a look at the recipes I should have been eating today!

Ultimate Reset Day #5 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #5!

I can’t believe it is already day five! The first week is almost over. It’s funny how committing to a 21-day program of clean eating can feel like a long commitment initially but once you are doing it the time just flies by.

I slept extremely well last night, a very deep sleep compared to what I am used to. I’m not sure if that is reset related or not. I had another fruit bowl with coconut yogurt for breakfast. I am definitely at a point where I am trying to use the groceries based upon how quick they will perish and how well they will travel in the car for 5 hours. Fruit and yogurt need to be consumed by tomorrow morning when we leave.

I am feeling really full today. All the fiber from the massive fruit bowl, gigantic salad, and huge stir fry feels like it is sticking with me. After a big fruit bowl again for breakfast, it made me just want Shakeology for lunch. I don’t like feeling heavy or really full so I’m going to go for a lighter lunch today.

Based on the grocery situation I decided to make the Microgreen Salad again! I made enough quinoa last night to have a couple more servings so I threw that in and an avocado…because they are going to rot and the healthy fat is a good swap for the zucchini cashew soup.

Here’s my recap of the day and a few physical things I am noticing!

Ultimate Reset Day #4 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #4

Meals – Ultimate Reset

Today is an easier schedule so everything just felt easy breezy! I took Bodhi for a 2-mile walk around the lake we are on and did some stretching and meditation to start my day off right. Then I went with the Day 4 fruit bowl for breakfast and a few tablespoons of coconut yogurt stirred in. It was delicious but definitely took a little time to eat all that fruit.

I decided to skip the Shakeology since I would be home for lunch and have the microgreen salad with an avocado today instead. It was so good for dinner last night and my body is still craving salad. I’m glad I did!

I had a little surprise at dinner. For Instance, I made the stir fried veggies with quinoa and miso soup. Now you are supposed to make rice but I only bought quinoa to keep the grocery list small. The surprise? I didn’t like the miso soup at all. However, I took a few spoonful’s and intuitively it just didn’t feel right so I dumped it down the drain and just ate the stir fried veggies and quinoa. Similarly, I don’t consume soy products so I’m not sure if that is why it didn’t feel right or what but I always listen to my intuition so I don’t see myself making that again!

Thoughts

I had no headache today and felt pretty good overall. My energy was steady throughout the day, I had a good level of focus and feeling very motivated. Life is good!

I realize this program is probably easier for me because I already eat very similar to the meal plan so I’m not going to have as much of a detox process as someone that does eat a lot of processed foods, chemicals, and sugars. I just wanted to throw that out there because I know the first few days can be more challenging for some people and it may not be an easy breezy process for everyone.

Ultimate Reset Day #3 – Hilery

Welcome to Ultimate Reset Day #3!

Day three is a travel day for me! I had clients at 4:30, 8:00, and 9:00am and had to check out of the VRBO at 10!

Meals – Ultimate Reset

Breakfast was the usual overnight oats and I added some different fruit again today to make sure I am getting a nice array of nutrients in my breakfast each day.

For lunch I stuck with Shakeology. It really is my easiest meal of the day. In other words is so nice not to have to bother with one meal yet still get amazing nutrition from it. I decided to make it in the morning in the blender and stick it in the freezer so it would taste a little better in the long car ride.

For dinner I decided to go with the Microgreen Salad. However, I skipped the Zucchini Cashew soup and roasted pumpkin seeds as the recommended accompaniments. Instead I went for an avocado and some pecans. I figured both pumpkin seeds and cashews were recommended for healthy fat. Similarly, I felt like the avocado would suffice and be much quicker!! The salad was amazing. The jalapeno dressing was definitely spicy but that isn’t a part of the reset, just an easy dressing I bought at Whole Foods because it was “clean”.

Supplements

I am definitely slacking on getting the supplements timed exactly a half an hour before I eat. Especially at lunch, I tend to take them just a few minutes before the Shakeology but I’m doing the best I can with this traveling lifestyle!

Conclusion

I am someone that tries to do everything perfectly but also gives myself permission to do my own thing if that is what feels right! There is no reason to make this Reset a torturous process if you can figure out some easy alternatives.

Once we get to Hilton Head on Sunday, I am going to try to stick to the official meal plan for the week while we are in one location! I can’t believe I’m already done with day three! Time flies when you are having fun!!
